Oscar winner Gene Hackman and wife found dead in Santa Fe home

The bodies of legendary Hollywood actor Gene Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, a classical pianist, were found Wednesday afternoon in their Santa Fe Summit, New Mexico, home. According to authorities, there are no indications of foul play.

Adan Mendoza, the sheriff for Santa Fe County, confirmed the sad news but did not say what killed the couple or how long they had been missing before being discovered. Alongside them, their cherished dog was also discovered dead.

Arakawa and Hackman, who celebrated his 95th birthday in January, were wed in 1991 and had been together for more than 30 years. Considered by many to be among the best actors of his generation, the actor had recently distanced himself from the spotlight. Some fans were worried about his deteriorating health after his last known public appearance.
