After the heated Oval Office meeting on Friday (February 28), the Trump administration is reportedly weighing its next move.
Just three days after President Donald Trump and Vice-President JD Vance confronted President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the Oval Office, the US has announced a pause on all aid to war-torn Ukraine.
Zelenskyy had been invited to the White House on Friday (February 28) to discuss potential solutions for ending the Eastern European war that has raged since Russia’s invasion, but the meeting quickly took a hostile turn.
Shortly after the trio sat down in front of the cameras, Vance accused Zelenskyy of showing disrespect toward both Trump and the US, repeatedly urging the Ukrainian leader to ‘thank’ Trump.
The tense exchange saw the 78-year-old Republican warn his European counterpart that he was ‘gambling with World War 3,’ while Zelenskyy pushed back, questioning whether either Vance or Trump had witnessed firsthand the devastation President Vladimir Putin had brought to his country.
He challenged them: “Have you ever been to Ukraine? Seen what problems we have? Come once.”
In the aftermath of the heated meeting, two US officials have confirmed that the Trump administration is pausing all military aid to Ukraine.

“The president has been clear that he is focused on peace. We need our partners to be committed to that goal as well,” a White House official told NBC News yesterday (March 3).
